Enchanting 03/30/2005, 19:36:50 |
I don't understand the threads on enchanting here. I gave my wannabe priest the Enchant Item spell, and then cranked up her Spirit skill level. As it went up, she got better at enchanting things (meaing fewer failures). Her Spirit skill is currently at 8, which includes an item that she enchanted that boosts it by three points, and she succeeds at least eighty percent of the time. She is now a Healer, and Expert in Spirit magic, but I have not promoted her in any other magic skill, including Elemental. She enchants Normal and Good quality items with equal ease, meaing she succeeds about eighty percent of the time. The only time her failure rate seems to rise is when enchanting cheap, low cost weapons of Normal quality, specifically Halberds. I have no idea why this is; she enchants Poor Swords, Crude Spears and Bone Clubs with ease (all were Normal Quality), but Halberds are a pain. According to the threads here, it seems she should not be able to enchant Good quality items at all. Why then can she enchant them with the same ease that she enchants Normal quality items? I don't understand. Thanks, Camden
