You have to have at least Normal ranking in both Elemental and Spirit, but your level of spellcasting depends in Elemental, the school that is listed first. I don't think this is made clear in either the manual, the in-game notes or the Prima Guide.Enchanting was part of Water Magic in the previous system, so that part makes sense. The in-game notes make it clear that your chance success is dependent on your level in Spirit magic. That's a new twist -- part of the new spell system -- but it's not unreasonable. Some of the other spells have secondary magics that have less plausable effects.
