Merry Christmas!
Play your selections by left-clicking on the titles. Music will play from a pop-up window which will include any notes. You might have to click the 'play' icon if your browser needs you to tell it to allow autoplay from our site.
The Jukebox worked for me across all of my browsers but please post below if you're having trouble. Thanks. -- Bones
(And best wishes to everyone, please forgive the languages I don't speak and thus haven't mentioned, plus all the world also.)
As usual, here's this year's magic Elf Brew. Since I don't have ready access to every sort of hop, grain, fruit, yeast that exists, I had to brew it and age it with a little magic. It tastes like your favorite beverage--spirits, non-alcoholic beverages, wines, etc., and will make you happy, but not intoxicated, no matter how much you imbibe. Did I mention that the keg is self-refilling?
A holiday warning: it's safe for you to drive, but watch out for those who drive without caring about others.
Another warning: the elf-on-a-shelf is rather popular, but those distant cousins of mine are all Dark Elves, and are not to be trusted. Their Dark magic is not harmonious with Peace on Earth (much less Good Will To Men,) plus they don't always tell the truth.
I'll also wish a Merry Christmas to everyone. And if you like the sound of the guitar, I can offer a couple more pieces... 12/26/2023, 07:38:34

This time, it's just some Christmas carols (nothing MM related). Since I recorded them for friends (and for my grandparents), it's a little selection of carols that are sung here in the Czech Republic. So it may be a bit of an exotic experience for some of you
Here they go, along with some notes:
Narodil se Kristus Pán (= Christ the Lord is born). The oldest known record of this carol, words AND music, is in a religious songbook written in 1420. So the song must be at least 600 years old, but still it's one of the most popular and well-known Czech carols.
Tichá noc (= Silent Night). You will recognize this one . It's popular pretty much all over the whole world and Czechia is no exception. The arrangement is pretty tough to play, so there are little mistakes here and there.
Dej Bůh štěstí (= May God grant fortune). Here it shows that my audio editing skills are not that good. For some reason, the recording sounds as if you had your head stuck in a little box. Still, the music itself should be nice.
I personally love exotic* carols, but I'd never heard this one before. In school we used to sing one called "The Christ of the Snow," but it was from somewhere in the Carpathian mountains.
Other favorites are Germany's "Glocken" carol, but I don't know the exact title. When I used to sing in Our Lady of Guadalupe church (in the southern end of California's central valley,) every Christmas we'd sing "Vamos, Pastores, Vamos." ("Come Shepherds, Come.")
Thank you again.
*exotic: foreign, not native (according to my old dictionary.)
Bones, I've been using Firefox since 2016(?), but I also have Google. Should I run this in Google, instead? (It would take a whole 20 seconds to switch over! I've got this program installed in both.) Thank you for your swift reply.
I'm not exactly sure what's happening. Please take me through step-by-step. 12/27/2023, 00:26:50

After you enter your message you click "Post !". You're then shown a Thank You screen and one of three things happens. You either click to see your message, click to go back to the Tavern page, or after 5 seconds to get sent to the Tavern page anyway. If you go to your message you're given a few other navigation options.
What are you doing and what do you see? Also, what OS and version of FF are you using? That will help me replicate what's happening to your posts.
I've had some trouble with Firefox recently 01/09/2024, 06:10:03

Don't get me wrong,I think very highly of their ethics and attitude. However, the last few times that I've accessed Amazon to order a Kindle download, it hasn't worked, and I've had to do it via Chrome. Similarly, running the Roll20 gaming program via Firefox doesn't work well – it's slow, and again Chrome works a lot better.
I'm always on a look for "exotic" carols too, so I figured other people would like that as well 12/29/2023, 06:38:36

Some of these carols are quite "braindead" (scales up and down or something like that) and as a musician, I don't really feel satisfied by that. Looking abroad is a good way of finding nice and interesting carols, since every nation seems to have at least a couple of really good ones.
So I tried to contribute some of ours. And if you liked them, then it's so much for the better.
