    I seem to remember (I believe!) that there was one MM a lo-o-ong time ago in which banking gold would earn you interest, if left in the bank long enough. Does anyone else remember this, or am I confusing it with a different series, Krynne, perhaps? (A popular RPG series in Strategic Simulations Inc.'s Gold Box Series.) I know I'm a little foggy at times, and frequently forget names and other pertinent information. (My doctor says that since I'm worried about this, it's a sign that it's NOT Altzheimer's!) Does anyone else remember benevolent bankers?

    For certain sure, if you hire the Banker NPC in Drangheim, and keep putting your money in the bank and taking it out again, it really does build up quickly. Mark you, considering the expense of training characters late on in the game, it's just as well!

Never seen interest, but MM9 does have an exploitable bug.....

    Given you can carry unlimited gold anyway, the only real value is not losing it in a TPK. But I don't know anyone who wouldn't simply reload a TPK anyway. So I've never used the banks, other than to collect the King/Queen quest reward cash in MM7
