But now what. I'm back in New Sorpigal, it's 8.38 in the morning on the 25th of April and everything is dead... Is there anything more to do?

If you're only level 45, then there are still either areas you haven't cleared or quests you haven't done.

Are you sure you have cleared every map. End of game is normally level 65 to 70.

    More like level 110.

Have you killed all the dragons and titans? There must be at least 25 levels there. If you have what strategy did you use to beat them at such a low level?

Dragons and titans

Did kill all of them. I used the bobbing for dragons (or titans) technique).

For Dragons, especially that huge clump around the shrine.. sneak up (flying) until the proximity alarm just goes yellow. Only a few dragons should have seen you at the edge of the clump. . Start bobbing up and down (Being able to fly up and down in turn based mode is really nice ) It's fairly easy to dodge all the breath weapons that way. The dragons that have seen you will start flying sort of in a big circle around you. Once they are far enough away from their friends that you can go to them without any of the other dragons seeing you, fly up to point blank range and shrap-metal the heck out of them. Rinse, lather and repeat. I find that I run out of spellpoints and health at about the same time, so when you do, portal back to NS for a heal, then beacon back to dragonsands for more dragons.
Takes some time, but it works. Titans are a bit easier, you can bob up and down the same as for the dragons and they meteor shower nicely...

*big grin* That's pretty well exactly what I do.

One of our old members (old in the sense of previous, not aged!) had a different technique. Using a pure magic party - SSSD if I remember correctly - in real-time combat with "Shrapmetal" as the quickspell, he made a series of passes through the dragons, strafing them rather like a fighter browning a group of slow-moving bombers, until mana was depleted. He then found a quiet corner to rest and recharge (don't leave the territory, or the dragons heal), and repeated as necessary.

Dragons

    Andy B writes:

My favourite party is CSSS and IMHO Shrapmetal is the best spell in the game and works really well against dragons.2 to 3 blasts wipes out a gold dragon and 1 to 2 blasts are quite effective against red and blue dragons. However if you finished the game at level 45 I would guess you were round about level 35 when you started dragonsands. I have always found I need to be at least level 50, 20 points in dark magic and master dark magic to be able to fight the dragons on level terms.

Generally ranged attacks. Stay close to ground to keep Dragons & Drakes on ground. Meteor shower for Blue & Gold, Titans & Worms. Starburst or Finger of Death for Red. Concentrate on one group at a time. LB to Temple to recharge, LB back. Repeat as necessary.
