(OT? Kinda, but not much) Question for longtime MM players 12/17/2013, 12:11:35
|
The Elf Herself writes:
My husband is much taken with the houses for purchase in the Elder Scrolls series (Oblivion, Skyrim.) I maintain that at least one of the MM's had them first, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure that in one of them, after battling your way past Pixies and Sprites, you arrive at a deserted castle that can be acquired, whether through purchase or conquest, I'm not sure. I also can't think which game it was: MM2, perhaps? Do any of you older veterans remember? Peter2? Bones? (And if I'm totally mistaken, does anyone remember a CRPG in the late 80's or early 90's that offered such a deal? I don't remember any other series games with player houses.) Thank you!

I have played only two MMs: 3 and 6. Neither of them permits it, as far as I can tell. 12/17/2013, 12:23:39

One of your tasks in MM4 is to build your own Castle and open the various shops in it. But IIRC you still have to play the game very carefully to get further than level about 27. You can't formally get promoted above level 25 until you open the portals to the Darkside, so you have to save the few positions that promote you a level until you've gone as far as the trainer will take you . . .

Castle Harmondale in MM7? 12/25/2013, 01:36:03

Not sure if I understand the question correctly but in MM7, you win the Castle Harmondale after you finished all quests in Emerald Island but you have to kill all the monsters in the castle before you can claim it as your home.
