In Darkmoor I was so desperate that my Quick Cast got occupied with spells like Torch Light and Wizard's Eye I remember hating insanity because of the crazy insane character portraits. But it's actually useful. Your strength doubles and on level 40 - 50 (when I fought there) it still can give you some bonus point of damage. The eyes can dispel your magic, but hey, they get one nice halberd strike from each character and they're dead. Even more so with liches. Run for a cover which protects you from the most of the liches and hack and slash the one or two that remain in your line of sight. Liches are very fragile.
