I found out the breakable wall in Anskram Keep was already "broken," just didn't look like it was (and shouldn't have been as I hadn't broken it yet), and I had forgotten I could crouch in this game; however I thought I would need to restart the game anyway because I got no dialogue box to enter Anskram Keep. I put that together with the fact that the other place I couldn't get into (no dialogue box) was Sturmford City and figured the problem was with the Sturmford area, since I had no problems anywhere else. I deleted the Sturmford minisaves (all of them, including the Sturmford.time ones) and the problem was magically solved. So the corruption must have been in the minisaves. I now have no problem with the game and have done the Anskram Keep quests.
