Yes, I regret to say it is. 3DO were in the process of going down the tubes at the time, and to have even the remotest chance of survivial, they had to get the game out in the existing financial year. (In point of fact the company folded a short while after issuing the game.) We had a couple of the design team visit us here, and I seem to remember a comment that the game needed a couple of months more work before it was really fit to be marketed. Bones and others have done what they could, but they don't have access to the game engine source code.But it sounds as though you're having more problems than most. There was another site (link below) that specialised in ways round the problems of running the MM games under WinXP. I don't know if there's anything in there which might help.
