No Genie in Shadow Guild

    Dear all,
I don't know if it's a glitch but maybe some of you will know the right answer. No matter how many times I enter the Rogue Leader's room in the Shadow Guild (Frozen Highlands), the Genie is not there and neither is the teleport door that would send me to the 4 riddles. (To the lower right corner on the dungeon map: http://www.mightandmagicwalkthrough.com/mightandmagic6/308-shadow-guild.html )

I tried the following versions of the game: original (1.0.0.1), last official patch (1.2), Grayface's last patch (2.0) but none of these helped.
I'm always entering through the dungeon corridors and never through the big room with ice bombs firing and patches of 'suspicious floor' where you have to jump to these to get teleported to the Rogue Leader. (I can't ever get the jumping job done, anyway...)
Did anyone have the same problem of not finding the Genie and the teleport door? Is there a fix to this?

You have to solve the puzzle room in the NW corner of the Guild before the Genie appears. ***spoiler***

To do this, you have to go right round the room stepping on all the untrapped tiles without stepping on any of the any of the trapped ones. IIRC you hear a series of tiny clicks as you go round, and I seem to remember that I always had to go right round the room and then a bit further before things happened.

    HTH!

Thanks!

    Thanks Peter,
I'll try that! I think I messed it up by using the jump spell instead of the x (jump) key. The latter should give me more control and precision.
    I'll report back soon...

Did you try just walking from one tile to another?

It has been along time but I kind of remember that they are connected - corner to corner.

    Hi,
Thanks for the tip! I don't think all patches of the 'suspicious floor' are adjacent. Some are but the ones towards the middle of the room are not. Anyway, I'll definitely check it out tonight!
    I found this:

The solution to the problem could lie in between 11:05 and 11:35 where he seems to be walking/jumping(?) from one group of tiles to another, and then he gets teleported. I can't wait to try it out...!

"It worked!"

Guys, thanks for tips, it finally worked! After clearing out the main baddy's room, I went over to the NW hall and used the X key to jump around. After completing one full circle (and getting injured from the bombs multiple times) I got teleported to the NE door, behind which I found the Genie and the teleport wall. Thanks again!

I found that if I did that, . . .

. . . it was very easy to catch one of the trapped tiles. I got sick of going round and round the room because of that. You can always tell when you've stepped on a trapped tile, the missiles start up again. Walking to just back of the corner followed by a "walking jump" (as opposed to a running jump) served me best.

Trapped tiles

I finally managed to visit the Shadow Guide in one of my games. I find the best way for the tiles that are touching each other (through their corners) is to walk through the normal way. For the tiles that are separated by one or two tiles, I just stopped by the edge of one tile and then use the X button to 'jump' to the other tile.
