The performance of knight is a big disappointment....

Even with Hades and Excalibur in his hands, he still give only 40~50 damages per hit and he hits only 30% of the time.

I never rated Excalibur

Hades is without doubt the best sword in the game, but I reckon that either a Lionheart Sword, a Mighty Broadsword, or a Master Cutlass, with an "of the Dragon" enchantment is a better option.

If you want to maximise damage, spells are the way to go. Most damage from one spell is achieved by Finger of Death (obviously!) and Mass Distortion, but neither is reliable, and they don't work on monsters immune to magic. Most reliable high damage is obtained from Shrapmetal cast by a sorcerer maxed out for Dark Magic. There are not many monsters immune to physical damage, which is what Shrapmetal delivers in this game.

I think there is some nerfing program to reduce his effectivness .
my last playing was the mod of BDJ . Few dungeons had
enemies type veteran , dreadknight etc .
My cleric healed knight and delivered damage . Knight been missin most of the times .The only good thing was that those enemies hit knight heavily and he because of high hitpoints
    could survive

I agree with you both 100%.

Looks like the biggest advantage of knight is that he has the highest chance of surviving the attack and can carry the party back to the church for healing.

I say this because the performance is so extremely poor that I can't believe it.

The most armoured monster in the game is the Gold Dragon. But my magical tables show that 30% chance to hit a gold dragon corresponds to +17 to hit. For other monsters, the sufficient bonus is much smaller.

Your attack bonus should be at least +15 (Hades) + 12 (Excalibur) + 12 (minimum of 12 levels in Sword) = minimum of +39, which would give 44% to hit against the gold dragon.

So — I can't believe 30%. Either you have been extremely unlucky, or it's just your subjective feeling.

The base unmodified damage for this combination has a minimum of 3d4 + 3d3 + 15 + 12 + 12 = 6~21 + 39 = 45 ~ 60. If you are dealing 40 to 50, it would mean either a highly resistant opponent, or a level 1 knight who has nothing more than those two swords on him (and 12 in Sword).

That I grasp ... But if this is true, it would be rather overnerfed.

30% is my subjective feeling

I did not actually calculate the statistics. My feeling is he hits only one third of the time.

However, the 40 to 50 damage figures are quite realistic as the number are shown on the screen.

As for the level, I believe it is 20+ but let me check.

That's the reason I think it's weird ... The numbers are objective and yet small. It puzzles me.
