High defintion Heroes of MM 3 is going to be released on Steam . 01/06/2015, 19:11:38

Steam is the biggest international games-platform with many millions players having accounts .
The new HD edition will have Steam multiplayer support ,
which means players wil be able instantly get access to
multipayer lobby .
Steam also has also workshop ,which allows modders to host their mods . In this case ,say the mod like famous WoG can be selected and play in 3 clicks and disselected so player can get back to the default version and play multiplayer .

Not for me, I was disappointed with the HoMM games. 01/07/2015, 05:45:06

I tried a couple, but they did nothing for me. And I'm not keen on multiplayer games, either.

I don't know if you ever read them, but many years ago, a couple of summaries of the total Might & Magic scenario were published in these Taverns. I think I still have a copy of the older (and less complete) one squirrelled away somewhere – if I can find it!

They don't seem to be adding anything new here 01/07/2015, 07:30:10

Gedas the Evil writes:
Basically just a higher resolution of images. Instead of the original models being rendered to bigger sprites, they are painting over the original ones with photoshop. Don't they have the original files anymore? Also this will probably include the forced notorious "uplay" client that refuses to even run on Linux via Wine. This is a reason I won't buy anything ubisoft for a long time. While I am a fan of HOMM games, i think I'll pass this time. I have more hope for the VCMI project

There is a trend now ,started by Microsoft ,which re-released 01/09/2015, 19:41:58

Age of Empires HD
Age of Mythologi HD
Fable HD
About Uplay I had to acquire it to try out HoMM 6 .
It generally works now for Win 8.1 user . It is also unsure
mayhap Steam will be enough for HoMM3 .
I still wish that enterprise luck ,because I hope they will get to the classic universe of Erathia instead of the universe of
Asha , I don't feel any interest to .
/cheers

The uplay client kills it for me beforehand as well. Wine doesn't really like it. 01/12/2015, 04:05:35

For me, it's useless to buy that game. I have a HD display, but I have no problems with playing in 1024×768. And they're going to release only the basic game, not the expansions. I like way more my non-HD game with all the expansions and sometimes WoG.(But I like Heroes IV even more than that.)

I have seen the represantation of MM Heroes 7 and it is beatiful or 01/14/2015, 00:58:05

Zoltan the Green writes:
way too beatiful for a strategy game , it's look sooner fits games like Skyrim . With such astounding graphics it will be hard to escape a lagfest on a couple of years old laptop . Plus the usual irritation of many players against Uplay . Hope they just will sell it through Steam without third parties .
Need to think about getting a new rig to play that anywhere .

For example you can unleash an avalanche in mountain region blocking roads 01/20/2015, 12:42:41

Zoltan the Green writes:
there are also giant catapults ,which bombard enemies on strategy map . This is a new feature because in classic might and magic troops could only be harmed on combat map .
I think the Inferno faction in HoMM 6 has special optional building ,which can unleash a fireball on enemy armies in vicinity of the given Inferno city .

Yes, I have seen the trailer. 01/23/2015, 06:08:39

Ramillies writes:
But in many trailers there are features that never make it into the game ... so the catapults and avalanches may be seen only in one specially scripted map or never at all.If these features could be used regularly in the game, then it can be great. I have never seriously played any HoMM above 4, so I don't know anything about 6.

Well I've listened the developer one more time and he said about that avalanche: 01/25/2015, 06:16:02

Zoltan the Green writes:
-In the game there will be tons of scripts like that in thecampaign and in some of the skirmish maps .
So you are right: it will be scripted events .
But one thing to add - no random map generator is planned as they talk about pre-designed skirmish maps .
Many people played HoMM 3 for years because of the random generator facility .
Skirmish maps are but few

Exactly that was the problem which put me off HoMM 5 -- too few skirmish maps. 01/26/2015, 15:44:06

Ramillies writes:
It looks interesting, of course, but I fear that it will be just a simple game with more complex maps. More so if these will be only few.I will gladly play it, though -- if only this prediction won't turn out true.
