High defintion Heroes of MM 3 is going to be released on Steam .

Don't they have the original files anymore? Also this will probably include the forced notorious "uplay" client that refuses to even run on Linux via Wine. This is a reason I won't buy anything ubisoft for a long time. While I am a fan of HOMM games, i think I'll pass this time. I have more hope for the VCMI project

About Uplay I had to acquire it to try out HoMM 6 .
It generally works now for Win 8.1 user . It is also unsure
mayhap Steam will be enough for HoMM3 .

The uplay client kills it for me beforehand as well. Wine doesn't really like it.

Plus the usual irritation of many players against Uplay . Hope they just will sell it through Steam without third parties .

But one thing to add - no random map generator is planned as they talk about pre-designed skirmish maps .
Many people played HoMM 3 for years because of the random generator facility .

Exactly that was the problem which put me off HoMM 5 -- too few skirmish maps.
