Solo knight - looking for tips and suggestions

As I suggested I might below, I started all over and decided to play it 'straight' this time - no 'super NPC' or other character to help level, though I'll use (almost) anything the game offers. Specifically I use the 'stats' cube in the NWC dungeon when possible though nothing else in there.

As 'Did' mentioned in a post, it's not a ton of fun past a certain point, but I'm going to keep working on it. My thought was to do the quests that I could and then level up as much as I could before I tried the harder ones. It's definitely doable but incredibly tedious. I'm at level 57 now and doing Dragonsand with much reloading and swapping of wind-masters, etc. I managed to do Warlords at 48 with running back to the temple multiple times. In Kriegspire I will hit the well once and then go kill the 8 drakes that spawn - just doable with the fly time of a wind master.

I'm just wondering how others approached it. Did you try to get a lot of levels first or try to do it at a lower level with massive reloading? Any other tips or thoughts for someone doing a solo knight?

One sub-note. I went and did the Temple of Baa in Ironfist at level 54; I assumed it would be a snap. I had to run out and heal 3 times to finish it. That is one really tough dungeon.

I hope it's ok that I'm posting so much.

There is a reasonably safe way to do this place.

You can tempt the hostiles in the main hall to follow you in small numbers down the stairs, where you can tackle them bit by bit without being swarmed under. You'll have to enter the hall to deal with the ones at the back, but don't under any circumstances go up the stairs on to the dais until all the enemy are down. When you've done that, retreat somewhere safe inside the Temple to heal.

When that is done, dash up the steps to the secret door behind the altar, open it, and run along the passage until you get up on to one of the balconies. They can't get at you here, and you should be able to shoot down the majority of the skeletons that appear as soon as you go on to the dais. When you've cleared as many as you can, go back down towards the door behind the altar, and again tempt small numbers of the ones you haven't been able to reach to follow you so you can deal with them gradually.

It takes time, but it should be well doable at your level.

Incidentally, one of the torches in the passageway will bear closer examination! *hint*

That's typically what I do in that dungeon

but I'm usually at a lot lower level. Even solo, I just expected it to be a walk in the park at level 54. I was more surprised at how much damage I was taking than anything. I think if I'd worked at it and been more careful I could have done it without having to go out and heal - I was just trying to get through it quickly.

I'm learning some new things as I do this

I imagine most of you knew these but I never did. First, I never realized that you didn't have to keep the Wind Master in your party after he or she cast fly. With Dragonsand in particular that brings up a couple of different possibilities. One is to hire the one in the resort, cast fly and then dismiss her and hire her back. That gives you up to four hours of fly time. That's what I've been doing mostly and I keep the Instructor who is available in the resort as the other NPC until I need to heal up. Then I exchange him for the Gatemaster, gate back to New Sorpigal, heal up (or stay at the tavern if it's later), and use the portal to hop back into Dragonsand, fly back to the resort and exchange the gatemaster for the Instructor again. There's also a way to do all your fighting with both an Instructor and Teacher in your party by always keeping the Teacher and swapping out the other NPC's as needed.

The other thing I never knew was about Dragons. If you can isolate one away from the pack and then maneuver really close and position yourself below him so that his legs are just visible, you can whack on him in turn based mode at no risk. He can't hit you and he won't move until he's low health and flees. It's time consuming and usually takes some reloading, but I'm close to clearing out the whole zone using that method. And I think it will respawn about the time I'm done.

This is going to take me a long time but I'm going to keep plugging away at it.

The only negative I can see off the top of my head about swapping NPCs in and out like that is that you pay the hiring fee every time, so you'll need plenty of money, especially when the training fees rise as your characters improve.

In turn-based ,while in air , you can descend and ascend in order to dodge their ranged attacks and attack them yourself .
Though I've been doing that with my ranged attacks it might work
    for melee too .
