I don't remember it being a problem when I played it back in '98/'99.

    SideNote: playing a KKKP party just for a challenge to a magic party, really enjoying the challenge, breath of new life into the game for me

    Incidentally, you are absolutely right in everything you said about the quest, except for the fact that the guy's name is spelt "Snergle" . . .
