Finding the Gate Master NPC 07/16/2008, 23:47:39
|
Carol writes:
I know there's a Gate Master NPC, but I can't find him. I read something that said he was in New Sorpigal. Now when I go to the house on the Southeast peninsula of the island of New Sorpigal, there's a Gate Master guy inside that house. Does he transfer at some point from walking around town to staying in that house, or something? I'm trying to do the thing where you fly up to the 2nd floor of the Bucaneers' and go to the place with all the dragons, to raise all your stats +20. Then I know how to get to the NWC offices, but I don't know how to get home from there without the Gate Master NPC (and my Sorcerer isn't nearly high enough to have the Town Portal spell).

1) By saving and then reloading multiple times it's possible to improve what you receive.
2) Save w/ view of many town NPCs. Everytime you reload, NPC professions typically change. Eventually desired profession will come up.
3) Teleporter to Dragonsand (DS) can be reached from ground. Flying not required.
4) Once inside DS "Shrine of the Gods" run N outside and around to NW and touch what appears to be sword handle of building. This is location of teleporter back to New Sorpigal.
5) When you teleport into NWC, door you arrive at is teleporter back to inside DS Shrine.
6) NWC library will provide 4 books of Inferno by saving, touching and reloading.
7) NWC Money chest will top character up to 10,000 gold unlimited times. Go to NWC w/ 0 gold.
8) NWC Armor chest will provide 1 nice set of chain mail every couple days.
9) Many at this site play MM6 over and over. Once you've played for a while you'll learn that using NWC is unnecessary.

Thanks 07/19/2008, 20:25:30

Carol writes:
Thanks for the tips. I know NWC was unnecessary; I just wanted to go there and get all the goodies. But I mainly wanted to get the +20 stats from the Shrine of the Gods in Dragonsand. That's quite a coup for me, at the stage of the game I'm at. Thanks again.

Primary stat development warning... 07/20/2008, 04:06:11
|
ragwort writes:
+2 permanent wells work if stat <=14 allowing +16 max with +2 wells (maximum 8 uses at once, must wait several days to reuse well.) +5 and +10 permanent wells work once per character if stat <=24. Use +2 wells to 15/16, then +5 wells to 20/21, then +10 wells to 30/31, then Shrine to 50/51 and then potions for 60/61. If you use Shrine early you can't get benefit from +2, +5 or +10 wells.

That is certainly the most efficient way to use them 07/20/2008, 07:40:42

Peter2 writes:
My problem with it is that it interferes so much with what else I want to do and where else I need to go in the game that I've never managed to use all the wells.I know when my son played the game, one of his objectives was always to get to the Seer in Ironfist and then get to the Shrine of Might in Bootleg Bay before the end of January. So I have never managed to find out what all the wells in Enroth do. If you have a list of where all the wells in Enroth are and what they do, and you could post it up here, I would be delighted, and I'm pretty sure that others would too.

Stålhand (aka Steelehand) writes:
They have recently discovered that they should start out with 24 intelligence. Then they need to go to Blackshire (+5), swallow the pure int potion, go to +2 might well and up the might to 15/16 and then off to Bootleg bay for extra might. It might be possible to improve that somehow, but I haven't figured out how yet. No, they don't drink the pure might potion.
