    The basic sense of the error seems to come when the video seems to "get ahead" of the sound somehow.

    I have a GeForce3 and a SoundBlaster Live! on a P4 1.7 (a fairly standard setup), so it's a little surprising to have these recurring problem, but it shouldn't matter anyway since everything is running in software mode.

    ArcoMage has always been a problem, even in Win Me on the same machine (but that was with acceleration).

    Anyway, thanks for your help. If I ever make any progress, I'll post the resolution.
