My apologies to Paladin and Ribannah.

I'm a long time M&M VI Tavern reader, first time M&M VII Tavern poster.

I'm trying to play M&M 7 on my Dell Dimension 2350 which is running XP.

I've done everything the Tavern could suggest. I opened the Configuration Utility and changed the 3D video to run through the software. The 3D audio option is unavailable, so I couldn't disable it. I set the desktop colors to 16-bit. I tried all of the compatability options. I even opened the Registry editor and (like rod) had to add "2dacceloff" and then set the value to 1. Still won't play. When I try to load the game, I get a window that says "Might and Magic VII has encountered a problem and needs to close. " No specific error message. Just that. Every time.

Also, I can't uninstall the program. When I try to, I get: "The log file "C:\Program Files\3DO\MightandMagicVII\unist.isu" is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue." I tried to simply delete the files using Windows Explorer, but it won't allow that either.

I contacted 3DO Support about this and they sent me an email advising me to just change my compatability options and run the 3D video through the software.

I loved M&M VI. I bought M&M VII two years ago and have been holding on to it until I could get a new system to play it on. To now be unable to play it is like having my stout and manly heart torn out.

Any help the Tavern could offer would be so very appreciated.

    Many thanks and good gaming.

    -D
