It would have been a more pure game to have not killed the gogs, but by the time I got to where the first one was there was no way to avoid it. He wouldn't move on his track; he just ran in place in a single spot, and it was the exact center of a hallway with no way to pass on either side. I was invisible and trying to stay that way, but I tried passing him even going visible and it was still not possible. Once I killed him, I was visible for the remainder of the run so that they all tried to block me; I thought I was lucky then to only need to kill one more. But it would have been better to not kill any.The other alternative would have been to not do the archmage promotion at all so I could have stayed out of the Breeding Zone entirely, but that would have created more problems later in the game when I didn't have GM Air for extended invisibility (can't imagine not killing anything in the Tunnels to Eaoful without it) or for GM Water so I could TP out of a dungeon in the middle of monsters blocking me. But if I try a game like this again, I will try to avoid those two kills too (hopefully the little guy won't be stuck running in place in a future game).
I am willing to take recommendations, however, realize that I will not rule out having an archmage for the reasons I gave above.
