formidable Monks.... 07/15/2006, 23:19:09 |
when reading discussions about creating teams the Monks are rareli mentioned,I noticed so far.Since I play a lot with different characters I became aware, how good they are.The veteran warriors here in the forum will know that of course.I just thought, for the benefit of some newer members, a bit of a refresher may not hurt.????
The Monk is one of the games coolest classes.Deadly with their fists or staves to hit even when they are not wearing armour, they are heavy hitters. At higher level they also use magic, and they can combine their skills to make them even better. Unarmed and Dodging are the staples of the Monk.If those two skills are not enough, then be amazed to hear that they can Grandmaster them as well as the Staff.A Grandmaster at the Staff can use both the Staff and Unarmed in combat. A Grandmaster in Dodging can use both Dodging and Leather Armour.Grandmastery should also be obtained for Learning and Bodybuilding.Mastery at Armsmaster just makes him or her even better. So,a beginning Monk should have a high Might,Endurance,Speed and Accuracy.Intelligence is not needed. After becoming Masters(good)they can use cleric spells at expert level. Ninjas(evil)can use Disarm Trap at Master level and stealing at expert level. In my experience, have them armed and armoured until level 15.Thereafter let them fight only unarmed until they become Grandmaster. Have fun and good fighting.Rudi |
