"Santa" brought me a new game for Christmas, "Wildermyth." It's a not-too-serious, cartoon-graphic RPG with maps and dungeons that are randomly created for each new game. Characters can be customized almost ad finitum. I started out with myself as warrior leader, with Peter2 as the archer companion. We met Bones in a nearby tower, where he learned that he was a mystic (i. e. mage,) when he successfully killed a monster with magic. He joined the party. After defeating some baddies on the road, we had a chance to recruit another member; thus Chlala joined our group. We suggested she become a warrior also, since you can't have too many. If we recruit someone else, we'll suggest that they become another mystic. (I just started the game today. The group is called "The TELP Regulars," pun intended.)
