When MM6 came out, it was (at that time) a newly modernized rehash of an older series, with real-time gameplay and 3D graphics to freely move around in. The series not only survived this transition, it turned out to be awesome. The point: What if some designers took another shot, and re-imagined the game again? No, not the bone Ubisoft threw to fans with their fully retro-style MMX. I mean, if someone actually cared about taking some risks, and reinvented M&M in a way that more-or-less follows the first person party-based idea, but innovatively re-structured to a point where even modern gamers would have a lot of fun. Have you ever wondered how such a game would play?
For one thing, I think individual spells (or small groups of related spells) would get buttons directly on the HUD. If anyone in the party could cast it, it would light up and I could just use it immediately---in a very Mass Effect 2 kind of way (never played 3, didn't like 1 or 2 enough to buy it). Thoughts?
