Other things which don't work

I'm having this problem too; I have the original version, the limited edition, and the Millennium Edition, but it doesn't sound like the Platinum version is going to help (speaking of which, I think I'd better get one of those before the price starts going up!)

Here are other things that I have tried that do not work:

    1. Executing the command "regsvr32 mss32.dll".
    2. Trying out various copies of mss32.dll from other games and off the Web.
    3. There doesn't seem to be anything meaningful in the registry I can play with. Changing "1.0" to "1.2" in the registry doesn't help either, not that I can get either 1.0 or 1.2 to work.
    4. Shortening the installation directory to "MM6", in case those ~'s were giving problems.
    5. Placing the mss32.dll file in the root directory, and in the Windows SYSTEM directory.
    6. None of the various emulation modes help any more than Win98 emulation.

I have a Win98 box and MM6 runs fine on it, but I'd rather get everything possible running on my modern WinXP machine.

mss32.dll is a sound library, so I don't think fiddling with display specs is going to help any.
