Replicating Saves Bug

    I've had MM8 installed and running on Windows 7 for quite a while, but hadn't played in a long time, and when I went back to play again this new bug has appeared...

    In short, I have numerous saves already from playing the game for a while. However, now, whenever I try to save my game, regardless of if it's a new game or an old save loaded, the game isn't saved, but instead a new copy of a particular save (The last one I made before I stopped playing for a long while) is made in the slot I try to save in.

    As you can imagine, this really ruins the game :/

    Can anyone help?

    Sounds like a Windows feature/bug. Try right-clicking on the MM VIII icon, go to properties and then click an the Compatibility tab and look at the bottom for Privilege level the box next to "Run this program as an administrator" should be checked.

    Feeling abit of a fool for not trying something like that myself, I overlooked it because the game was already running.

    Don't supposed you know how to get the game to run fullscreen o Windows 7? It's stuck in 800x600, not a major issue, but would be nice to have it larger xD

    Look for the MM VII folder, default path is c:\Programfiles(x86)\3DO\Might and Magic VIII.Find the file MM8Setup. Click on it and on the left hand side there are 3 boxes the top says window and the middle says video, in the top window make sure Full screen is checked and it should run full screen.

    I should probably have explained it better, the game is fullscreen in the sense that it fills the entire screen, but the only colour is in a 800x600 box in the middle, the rest of the screen is just black?

    It's difficult to describe.. it's like it's running in a 800x600 window, but the rest of the screen is blacked out.
