What OS are you using? Have you tried any compatibility modes?

Compatability mode seems ineffective.

KERNEL.DLL is a critical Windows library....

Lots of programs -- perhaps all -- rely on its routines. If your MM8 install can't find the entry point for that routines and you've tried different versions of the library, then the problem is in your MM8 install.

MM8 is looking in the wrong place for KERNEL.DLL. There's a bad pointer somewhere in your Registry. An uninstall with a cleansing of your Registry might do the trick, but ....

This might be related to installing MM8 on a NTFS partition. That would be my best guess. If you are using NTFS on the partition that your MM8 is installed, uninstall the game, create a FAT32 partition and reinstall the game there. And let us know whether or not that does the trick. Thanks.
