Is there a safe place to store items in MM8?

Since Harmondale Castle in MM7 was designed to allow you to safely store items, I was just wondering if anywhere in MM8 is designed to do the same. I'm playing it for the first time and haven't seen any indication that anywhere is intended for storage, but I'm still early in the main plot.

that the NPC's in the Adventurer's Inn can be used for storage. If this is you're first time thru the game then I'll try to explain a bit better (for those who know all this please forgive the rambling). You will have noticed that you only start off with one character. And throughout the game certain NPC's will offer to join you, as you've no doubt also seen. Some you may have hired, some you may not have. The ones you don't hire (or any that you have hired and then fired at some point), will go to stay at the Adventurer's Inn, where you can go hire or re-hire them at any point in the game. And while they are waiting there, they will store anything you stuff into their inventories, until such time as you want it. So go, hire anybody you can, pilfer whatever equipment of theirs you want, stuff them with anything you can think of, then fire them, safe in the happy knowledge that all of your various items will be waiting for you to come and get it. To do that, go back to the Inn, hire the person who's holding the item you want, grab that item, then fire them again. Repeat as necessary.

Yup, that sounds spot on to me Maybeth.

Also, you might want to know about the chest in Ravenshore (I think it's Ravenshore anyway). The game wants you to believe that you can safely store your items there, but don't fall for that trick! It's definitely not safe to drop items in that chest!

Yes, only the inn

Yes, the Adventurer's Inn "trick" is the only safe way of storing your items in MM8! You have no base in this game. The chests in the Tradehouse will reset with Ravenshore regularly!

Nevertheless, don't give up the rest of available chests. Most of areas reset once in 2 years so that you can store your items safely in these chests in between. My "base" is always the Chapel of Eep in Ravenshore: it contains 12 chests and I have the inn at hand. Ravenshore (and the Chapel) resets once per 2 years. Thus, I occupy the chests and if the 2 year's limit approaches, I move my property to the inn.

I think you can get to their inventories without having to actually hire them.
