It sounds like you've triggered the last remaining game-killing bug in 1.3a....

If you stand by the imp portals and kill the emerging Imps using Poison Cloud then you can kill them too fast for the game to give you credit for it. This can kill a game since it's a required quest. We fixed it for the Russian version.

    Zedd is correct. You'll need to exit AKeep, delete your AKeep mini-saves and start again.
