i am having same problem. i have core 2 duo, geforce 8600 gts, and tried the 30.82, 43.45, 45.23, 61.77, 81.85, 97.78, etc, and they wont work for core 2 duos and the geforce 8 series. most of them wont even install because they lack compatibility with the hardware. i tried running the xp compatibility, changeing it to windows 98, with and without 264 or whatever color, and a couple other things. so far, nothing helps with the menu delay, i have about a 5 to 6 second delay and its pretty irritating.
