Telp 1.3 Patch and Vista

    I installed MM9 on my new computer this past week and thought that it was ok, except for having to drop to desktop (VISTA) and back to remove the load-screen so I can play the area. However, when I town portalled to Thronheim I landed in the old area and then saw that I was still playing 1.2. I tried to install the patch several time and all messages say that install was successful yet the game remains 1.2 and no Patchwise file is in the folder. I then copied the game to the desktop and successfully installed the patch (Patchwise file included) but the game is unplayable as dropping to desktop does not work at all with the 1.3 patch installed and have to revert to 1.2.
    Any one had similar experience? I have successfully used this patch on two prior computers so this problem is specific to the new computer.
