I did explore a great deal of it. Enough to solve the quest or two that involves going down there. And certainly enough to truly appreciate the benefit of carrying several bottles of 'cure poison', and learning the spell as soon as I could find it. And just so you know, there are several entrances to that area, as it is basically a sewer - kind of like the one in Freehaven in MM6 - except not all of the entrances are inside houses.
