If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

I've found a solution on Celestial Heavens - how make the M&M games to run on WinXP. It says that there is a way to get MM1-MM8 to run on WinXP but MM9 should run without any problems right after installing. Btw, I have another problems running MM8, where after the launch I get a white blank screen and after few seconds I am kicked back to desktop. For MM8 those hints might work but what about MM9? I had exactly the same problems when I was trying to start HoMM4 "The Gathering Storm".

Both games did work on my older computer so the CD can't be damaged or something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
