... the breaking of the beam. I can only think of three explanations for what you report. First, and least likely, there might have been a problem with the application of the patch. What is the exact size of your SCRIPTS.REZ?Second, you might have installed the patch after entering THall for the first time. I think I recall, however, that you installed the patch before starting your game, so this wouldn't apply.
Last, you might have already gotten the reward and didn't notice it -- or perhaps there is an engine glitch that kept the reward from being applied in your case. If there is a glitch I haven't heard of it before.
You party is given a 'key' when the reward is given. If you send me (telphelp@yahoo.com) the HDR file from your current savegame set I will check whether or not you have that key. If you do then I can clear it so you can try going through the THall and getting the reward again.
