When we were trying to find a name for the villan that
had sufficiently evil ring to it, a fellow co-worker emailed me a link about an actual historical figure named Timer Lang, also known as Tamerlane. As a joke placeholder, I changed the letters around to Tamur Leng. It turned out that Tamerlane was of hun descent or mongolian descent or something, which was the influence we wanted to use for the Beldonian Hordes. So since his name fit, our director, Keith and the art director, Kate decided we should keep it. I was actually a little reluctant to use it because it resembled my name so closely, but they insisted, and I caved.
