It took me almost a year in real time to complete my first MM game, I think it was six, and I believe I had a hint book. I couldn't even kill a goblin, didn't know there were maps, and played on a computer that didn't realize what a torchlight was. (I also played Zork Nemesis in the dark. Loved that game,too)I have been playing these games since they first came out, anxiously waiting for each new episode. They were my rescue from angry parents and difficult students. It also gave my "kids" some fun when I had to ask for help in the middle of a history lesson! My name was easy to pick.
