Ice3 is correct, but perhaps a bit too terse.It sounds like either you are playing MM9 on a non-English keyboard setup or you have miskenly re-configured your keyboard. You can set it up the way you like by accessing the Keyboard menu under Options.
Most releases, including recent English versions, of the game are version 1.2 (or 1.0.0.2 in WinXP). Check you program properties to make sure. If you are using an English version you'll want to update using our unofficial 1.3 patch. That, and thee English 1.2 patch are available at our main site.
There are also TELP 1.3 patched available in Italian, Czech and Hungarian. Russian, French and Spanish are promised...shortly.
