I think this is very very encouraging: the dawn of a new day.

The facts as I see them are fairly simple.

JVC makes great games. I have loved every game he has ever made.

If he can not call his new game "Might and Magic", so what. It will be the quality of the game that matters, not whether or not he can use the trademark Might and Magic title.

I totally agree that an online game is very different from a single player game. As someone once said, the problem with online games is that everyone wants to be Frodo and not just another anonymous player on a never ending treadmill of level seeking.

But the whole point of the JVC interview is that he understnds this and has ideas on how the two formats, single player and online, can be fused into something new, something that will give us the best of both.

If he can do this it in 20 years time people may look back and say that this was the most important even in gaming since the first pc went mass market.

Whether this board is the best place to discuss Jon's new projects or whether that should be done somewhere else is for the board owner to decide. I can see valid arguements both ways.

The bottom line is I think we should all wait and see
what JVC actually turns out before we go judging it.

After all, he did pretty good the first time around.
