Apparently, the MIDI capability of DirectX is the security hole. Microsoft says the vulnerability is critical, and recommends upgrading to DirectX 9.0b. I'm not one to recommend people upgrading to latest version of DirectX when I've read and responded to a number of posts about problems with it for the M&M games. Personally, I think the security hole is not a big issue as long as you don't visit unfamiliar sites or open attachments from unknown sources. However, I thought I'd pass along this information in case this turns out to be the next variation on MSBlaster. |
