3DO was going down the tubes quite quickly when they put out MM9, and it still needed a few months work doing on it when they were forced to put it on sale. Some people don't like it, and certainly it could have been a lot better. However, I've played it a few times and quite enjoyed it, although I don't guarantee anybody else will. One thing that they did get right was the combat engine. There's one place down there you can tackle at any party level between about 11 and about 30, and it'll give you a damn good time.
