...milk being sold in smaller or larger canisters. The larger ones that I usually bought had something like "4 pints (2.242 liters)" written on them. (The number of liters is probably a bit off.) So that does sound like a 20oz pint (I seem to remember that 1oz = 30ml, but I may be off on that too.)As for alcoholic beverages, I have no idea since I hardly drink any of those. Other types of drinks (various juices, smooth drinks, water etc.) seemed to be pretty consistently sold in plastic bottles with volume being a multiple of 500ml.
