I am not a lawyer but am quite familiar with copyright law. I am also interested in this but have no IT skills. I will, however, offer to undertake getting legal permission from UbiSoft (in writing) and even offer to send the "patcher" the original response (so they could keep it for their records). I seriously doubt that UbiSoft cares a whole lot about really preventing this since allowing it would only enhance their image with their customer base. Their is a slight (but rather remote) chance that they may even pick up the role playing game (as they did with Heroes of M&M 5). Let me know.
