I am not sure whether mm7che or mm8che but one of them must be placed in the game root directory. The one, which does not offser you setting the saved game directory at startup. The one which does allow setting the directory can be placed anywhere. Let us suppose it's mm7che. Copy mm7che.exe into the root dir of the game (the dir where you installed the game, not the actual saved game directory). Run mm7che again and it should offer a list of your saved games.
