Yes, L. A. (Los Angeles, for those of you not familiar with some of the Yankee slang) had lots of flooded streets and high winds. Nothing like the floods shown on TV of Louisiana (floods,) the midwest (tornadoes,) or northern blizzards, for example. Here in California's Central Valley, we've all received flood warnings. (Where I live, we got a WHOLE (gasp!) 3 INCHES of rain one day! It dried the next day, leaving the streets and gutters totally dry. One city to the south of us did have some street flooding--their gutters got clogged with ungathered fall leaves. And yes, we all got warnings of disaster, with directions of where to go to warm up, etc. Most of the warnings were directed to homeless people camped out on sidewalks, as if there were any means by which they could even hear about it. (Our town had high winds, but apparently no uprooted trees, due to dry grounds. But gee, no disaster means no news.) So thank you for your concern, but we're not in that imminent danger, weatherwise. Sorry, newscasters!
