| I'm not sure how it developed, but it's as though the subway stations under the city centre became linked with the basements of the shops and malls and so on. If you worked in the city centre and wanted to do so, you could vanish underground on a Monday, and live, eat, and work without ever going outside into the Winter weather until you needed to travel back to where you lived on a Friday night – or even on Saturday.
