Original Message:   Some people play it that way, but that's not what I meant.
All I meant was that you get the "Game Over" screen if you accidentally walk into too tough a situation, or even suffer a bad dice roll.

As far as "Rules" go, I'm a firm believer that anything the game permits you to do is OK — and that includes making use of "features", i.e. beneficial bugs. Once you've bought the game, you are entitled to play the game however you wish and do whatever you like in it. If you want to use a character editor to max out your characters, that's fine by me. It's not something I would do, but your game, your decisions.

I still play the v1.0 game on an old computer with a Win98 OS, and if I want to, I can do things like equipping my sorcerer with swords, giving my druid access to the mirrored path magics, etc. But usually, I don't. I find it makes the game too easy and that spoils my enjoyment. The only thing that I use the editor for is to compensate for the armour recovery bug, and I don't do that until my characters reach Master in the appropriate skill. I would also if necessary compensate for the Gharik's Lab key bug.
