If you ever play Might & Magic III, in some of the rooms in the final "dungeon" contain crystals which also age you. In one of my games, I somehow managed to age my party permanently — the Fountain of Youth could not reverse it. The game recognised that this was a temporary effect, because the numbers appeared in grey print, and why the Fountain didn't work baffles me. I never tried to take it over the far end, though.
