... that there are no further promotions from Ranger and Priest. Your Rangers started out as Might class Fighters and could have been promoted to either Crusaders or Mercenaries. Apparently you chose Crusader for both. Crusaders can be promoted to either Rangers or Paladins. It sounds like you promoted both to Rangers.Magic class characters have a similar promotion path:

I'm pretty sure that you can't change your profession once you've accepted the promotion. You can try talking to the quest givers to see if they'll let you. The Paladin promotion quest is given by Grehgknak the Right in Lindisfarne Monastary. The Druid promotion quest is given by Menja Ketildotir in Frosgard City.
