I have three basic rules that I never deviate from in normal gaming. (I sometimes suspend them during play-testing which I do alot)

    1. Dead Pary=Game Over

    2. No Save/Reloading during Combat (at shops/guilds for needed items OK, because of limited inventories and luck involved). The only time I allow a save (except as noted) is when I am exiting the game for some reason.

    3. No Multilooting of monsters

Applying these rules, you can see that solo/speed games are out of the question for me . . if I tried that it would take forever for me to finish a game since I would be starting over after almost every major battle (especially early game).

I believe in full party development: Kaximum HP/SP and skill development which require leveling and thus time, and doing every possible quest. All this requires spending Game Time so scores mean nothing to me as mine are always low.

I very rarely finish any MM game at less than level 90 and always play with at least 4 party members.

I also generally (sometimes I devite from this, but not often) do not allow my spell caster to even learn offensive magic at all or even use wands. I generally only use magic for travel, monster debilitation (beserk, paralyze, etc) and party buffs.

This is why, in MM7, one of my favorite parties is KKKD. In MM9 my favorite party is Gladiator, Assassin, Assassin, Priest.

Different strokes for different folks (old TV saying)
