There are two ways to get past this room. If you like to play in real time mode you can hop from one block to the next and make it across to the other door. Don't stop moving because the blocks will lower once you touch them. If you don't make it they'll reset once you touch the ramps leading back to your starting platform, but by then you might as well get through the other way....
Touching the blocks or the floor will open the four recessed areas that you saw on the minimap. In the back of each recess is a button. Each button will raise a pair of stairs to the opposing platform, but they must be pushed in the correct order.
