I remember seeing a screenshot of an early rendering of MM7 -- something the developers release to show fans how awesome the game will look. I think I recall seeing chickens in the picture. I can't find the image now, of course.The problem back then was that computing power limited the number of sprites that could be displayed at one time. JVC and the developers always wanted to get as many monsters onscreen as possible, so the livestock had to go. They did finally get cats into MM9 -- but they don't look that convincing.
