After picking up Expert Spear and realizing that I didn't get the damage boost I started digging a bit.As far as I can tell, the Millennium Edition installs the game with 1.1 patched, loading my saves (which I played with Grayface's patch installed), I get the correct behaviour from Expert Spear (adding damage). When I install GrayFace's patch however, the bug is reintroduced and I no longer get the correct bonus. I also realized that I had seen a 0 charge wand while playing but didn't know that it was a bug that was fixed in the 1.1 patch. I've tried installing GF's patch with and without ticking the option to install the official patch but to no avail.
This seems to be the same problem DoddTheSlayer reported below and I can only guess he has the same version of the game as I do.
