I have nevwer tried a speed game. My guess is, however, that during the four months while you are waiting for the judge to die, you develop you party as well as you can and set portals where you have to go so you can complete the game on the day after the judge dies (You will lose one more day getting to the shoals, so take that into account).I do know this though. In order to have a successful "perfect" speed game, you have to start the elf-human war no later than the afternoon of the 11th of January.
Since you get to Harmondale from EI on the 8th, you have only a litle more than 3 days to clear the castle, see the Dwarf King, get to Bracada, free the 7 dwarves, return to Stone City and thence back to Harmondale and leave the castle there to start the war. The judge will die EXACTLY 4 months after you start the war.
I know you can hire a gatemaster in Stone City, so I guess if you hire a tracker and an explorer in Harmondale then cross over to Barrow downs in two days you can get to Stone City and see the King. Then dismiss your explorer and hire a pathfinder in Stone City. Buy an LB scroll from the magic shop in Stone City and set a portal there.
From there go to Bracada (1 day with a tracker and Pathfinder)and free the 7 Dwarves then go to the magic shop in Bracada and buy another LB scroll and portal back to Stone City. Fire the tracker and hire a Gate Master there then portal back to Harmodale and leave the Castle to start the war.
All this should not take more than 3 1/2 days, so you should be able to start the elf-human war by the afternoon of the 11th if you are lucky. Getting the two LB scrolls may require some mephistoing at the two magic shops.
Lotsa luck . . I wouldn't try it myself though as speed games are not my kind of thing.
